NBN CO PIT & PIPE
The government announced as part of the "New Developments" policy, NBN Co will be providing fibre broadband infrastructure to all new developments of 100 premises or more.
NBN Co will cover the cost of the fibre and active equipment for broadband and telephone services only (no Free-To-Air TV or other services) provided that, amongst other things, developers install pit and pipe infrastructure at their cost to NBN Co specifications. NBN Co requires that the developer provides warranties for pit and pipe infrastructure and they are particularly strict about adherence to their specifications.
Comverge Networks has provided substantial input directly to NBN Co and contributed via Communications Alliance to both this specification as well as the tentative in-premises wiring specification. Refer to Communications Alliance Ltd, National Broadband Network, End User Premises Handbook.

Until recently Peter Saglietti, Managing Director of Comverge Networks was the FTTH CAP representative for the DBCDE Stakeholder Reference Group on Fibre in Greenfields. In addition, a number of experienced staff was also deeply involved with the details of the developing standards.
